Have you owned or leased a diesel Mercedes-Benz vehicle since 2008?

You might be entitled to thousands of pounds compensation!

Your car may have been fitted with a defeat device in order to dodge emissions laws.
You could claim compensation on a no-win, no-fee basis.

About The Claim

We estimate that over 1.7 million owners in the UK have purchased, leased or financed a vehicle which has been fitted with a ‘defeat device’ subject to a voluntary software update.

We consider that it’s unacceptable that customers have been sold vehicles which do not comply with emissions regulations.

We have received a significant amount of interest since launching this claim service and we suggest you complete our 60 second check today, to see if you are eligible to join the claim.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much compensation could I receive?

f successful, we expect the average claimant will recover thousands of pounds. The exact level of compensation is likely to depend on a number of factors, such as which claims are available to you, the model of your vehicle, its age, and how much you paid for it.

How long is this going to take?

The length of time it takes to resolve complex claims is unpredictable and often depends on the approach taken by the defendants (in this case, Daimler AG, Mercedes-Benz and others). Although we hope to resolve these claims as quickly as possible, the clients should be prepared for their claims to be taken through the complete legal process, including a trial at court. In such a case, it may take at least three years before a conclusion is reached. In any case, be assured that our lawyers are working hard behind the scenes to progress the matter quickly and efficiently. The further along the case is, the more accurately we will be able to predict timing.

What paperwork will I need?

We need certain documentation from you to be able to determine what types of claims are available to you, to allow us to file your claims, and to assess how much compensation you could be owed. We will need you to prove you once owned or leased the vehicle by providing us with at least one of the following: Your V5C registration slip; Any leasing or finance documents relating to your vehicle; Any invoices for the purchase (and sale, if you no longer the owner) of your vehicle; or An insurance certificate from the time you owned the vehicle. If you do not have any documents in respect of your vehicle, our Client Service Team can assist you. Please call 020 8057 7480.

What if I no longer own or lease the vehicle?

You can still sign up. It is unlikely to make a difference if you sold the vehicle, the lease has ended, or if you have otherwise returned your vehicle to the finance company.

How much will I have to pay?

We act on a strict 'no win, no fee' basis and we only charge a fee if we successfully recover compensation for you. You do not have to pay anything upfront for us to represent you. If your claim is successful, our fees will be 45% of the compensation you receive (this includes VAT). You will also need to pay your share of expenses (if any) such as court costs (such as filing fees) or expert’s costs. Given the number of claimants who have joined the case, we expect such costs to be proportionally low. Please note, these costs do not form part of our fees and are paid to the relevant third party.

Can I register multiple vehicles?

Yes. If you owned or leased more than one affected diesel Mercedes-Benz between 2008 and 2018, you don’t need to register with us more than once. You will have the opportunity to add multiple vehicles to your portal when you sign up. You will be able to claim for each eligible vehicle.

What happens if the claim is unsuccessful?

If the claim is unsuccessful, you will not be required to pay any fees or costs whatsoever.

Is it likely that we will win?

Yes. Although there is no guarantee that the claim will succeed, we believe that there are good prospects of success and we would not be pursuing the case otherwise.
